Aviemore:
Just 11 miles north of Kingussie lies the bustling town of Aviemore. With an array of shops many selling mountain and outdoor equipment and a selection of Restaurants and cafe's.
Also home to the Cairngorm Mountain railway and ski slopes. With great views of the Cairngorm mountain ranges and Loch Morlich from the top station.

Rothiemurchus Estate:
Just 1 mile from the centre of Aviemore is Rothiemurchus visitor centre and shop.
Here you can book Fishing trips, Quad bike outings and many more exciting outdoor activities. Dont miss having a look at the lovely shop and deli with local produce on sale and a great variety of gifts,cards etc.

Newtonmore:
Home to the Highland Folk museum. A must visit and the bonus is it's FREE!! a great day out for the whole family. Newtonmore is just 3 miles drive or you can cycle along the cycle path from Kingussie all the way to the museum.
Insh:
Visit the Loch Insh watersports centre which also has a dry ski slope. Let the kids play on the adventure playground whilst you sit in the lovely loch side restaurant/cafe.

Insh is just 6 miles from Kingussie and a favourite of ours is a visit to the Inshriach Nursery and CAKE SHOP!! Serving homemade cakes in a lovely little setting where you can watch the birds and squirrels play.
Highland Wildlife Park:
6 Miles north of Kigussie is the famous Highland Wildlife Park. Home to Tiggers, White owls, Snow mokeys and many more. A great family day out with an onsite cafe,shop and drive around safari as well as a walking section.

11 miles south of Kingussie is Laggan, home to Wolftrax mountain bike centre. With a variety of runs to suit all abilities an onsite cafe and bike shop/repairs.
